Character Post!

****************For details on performances just got to THIS LINK*****************

Last week after practice, Miss Kaitlin and Mrs. Drennan got pictures of the cast for our 'cameo' shots. I thought I would pop in and share them here, just to give a boost of excitement to everyone. :-)

Mr. Bennet- Father to five daughters and husband to one very silly wife. Prefers to spend time in his study.

Mrs. Bennet- Mother of five daughters. Her business is to get them all married as soon as possible.

Jane Bennet- The loveliest of all the Bennet girls and certainly the sweetest. She never thinks ill of anyone.

Elizabeth Bennet- Second daughter and best friends with Jane. She is sweet and amiable, but also has a bit of spirit.
Mary Bennet- Being the middle child, she is left to bring everyone to some common sense. Prefers an evening with Fordyce's sermons to parties or cards.

Catherine (Kitty) Bennet- A very silly girl, but with perhaps more sense than her youngest sister. She follows Lydia where she leads and enjoys giggling over the officers.

Lydia Bennet- The silliest of all the Bennet girls, and the youngest. Her love of officers and dances outweighs any sense of propriety or decorum.

Mr. Bingley- he is single man of large fortune! Need anything else be said?

Miss Caroline Bingley- Very haughty and thinks very well of herself. Prefers the society of Mr. Darcy and only wishes he would see all her virtues.

Mr. Darcy- Very proud and above anyone else, but then, since he is VERY rich, perhaps he should be.

Miss Georgiana Darcy- Younger sister to Mr. Darcy. She is under his sole care and has a timid personality.

SirWilliam Lucas- Very amiable man. Has been given a knighthood and considers himself a gentleman of gentlemen.

Lady Lucas- Neighbor to the Bennets. She enjoys talking with Mrs. Bennet about any eligible young men.

Charlotte Lucas- Best of friends with Elizabeth. She is not a romantic and only wishes for a comfortable home and pleasant husband.

Mrs. Phillips- Sister to Mrs. Bennet, she lives in town and hears all the local news. She adores all her nieces, and takes after her sister in silliness.

Mr. Gardiner- Brother to Mrs. Bennet, he is a lawyer and lives in London. He is a very amiable man and a favorite with Jane and Elizabeth.

Mrs. Gardiner- Aunt to the Bennet girls. She is a sensible woman and pleasant to be around. Jane and Elizabeth are her favorite Nieces.

Lady Catherine DeBourgh- A very rich woman and very haughty. She enjoys telling people what to do. She is also the aunt to Mr. Darcy and Col. Fitzwilliam.

Anne DeBourgh- The very quiet, sickly daughter of Lady Catherine. She is supposed to marry Mr. Darcy.

Mr. Collins- He is the clergyman to Lady Catherine's parish. Being very grateful to her for her condescension, he enjoys singing her praises wherever he can.

Mr. Wickham- He recently joined the regiment in hopes of securing a good life. Having been a downtrodden man with a story, he enjoys procuring everyone's good opinion.

Denny- He is a good friend of Wickhams and a favorite of Kitty and Lydia's. He is a amiable gentleman, but enjoys the flirtations with the ladies.
Col. Fitzwilliam- Nephew to the great Lady Catherine. He is a very agreeable man and, had it not been for fortune, might have liked Elizabeth much better.

Susannah- Servant to the Bingleys and a very sweet girl
Hill- Servant to the Bennets. She knows just about everything that goes on in that house.
Mrs. Reynolds- Housekeeper to Mr. Darcy. She enjoys giving tours of Pemberley and singing praise of her master.

Practice Perfect Performance

The excitement is mounting.

The lines are funny.

The time is near.

These are a few descriptions of how drama is going at the moment.  It is at the point that everything is coming together but still lots of rough bumps along the way.  Everyone is getting all the cute meanings in our play and some of the "duhs!" of finally realizing what that means.....  Yes, laughter is a HUGE part of our group!

It is amazing this year to see the "new" thespians; how they are still quiet, nervous about moving on stage, and unsteady in the training for the timing of when they need to go onstage.  What I love the most is the words that come from the older and advanced thespians.

"Yay! That was great!"
"You're doing awesome!"
"Don't worry, you'll feel more comfortable!"

The encouragement is beautiful to see.  It is far easier to mock or make fun of people.  It is much harder to give a word that both encourages and pushes you to your best!

I love this group.  :)  I love the feeling of camaraderie among everyone.  Sure, we aren't perfect.  I am sure feelings go home hurt by careless words, but they all come back better and stronger.

Yup, it is amazing!  Make sure you come see our performance this year!  It is going to be amazing!
