Truly, this year was just phenomenal! Our actors were on top of things & doing a splendid job, the food was amazing, and ours servers kept everyone happy. There was much bribing going on to get information from the pirates and other sneaky characters and everyone had a marvelous time.

Congratulations to Our Servers!

In case you didn't know, those who want to participate in our dinner theater as servers still have to audition. Being involved as a server is much more than just bringing out plates of food and keeping everyone's water filled. No, they must also memorize the story line, look over the script MANY times to be comfortable with whats going on, AND be prepared to answer any questions our guests might have for them- IN CHARACTER! Yes, our servers have characters as well. With our first dinner theater last year, our servers weren't just folks being waitresses.... no, they were Castle Servants in Lord and Lady Taylor's magnificent mansion and they were serving guests who had arrived to help celebrate the upcoming wedding of Baron Bartholomew. In that case, then, they needed to become those servants. To transport themselves into their characters, just like the cast. So it is no easy task being a server!

Here's a shout out to those who made it past the auditions and who are looking forward to serving you when you come to 'The Salty Seadog Inn' for a jig with the pirates this time around!

Second Annual Dinner Theater auditions!

It's exciting that auditions for our 2nd Annual Dinner Theater are just around the corner! Thespians have already been gearing up with a skill building season (though not tied to the dinner theater itself or required to participate in order to audition).

The skill building has been a great time of learning for new and old thespians alike. You can never stop learning, right?

Once auditions have taken place, expect to see the ticket sales open shortly after. The seats are limited each night, so reserve yours quickly. You don't want to miss out on this exciting adventure! We'll reveal more about the plot at a later time, so be sure to keep your eyes open!

11th Season Here We Come!

We are getting ready to gear up for our 11th season! Woohoo!

This year/season is fairly significant as it is really changing up a few things for our drama group. Last year we did our dinner theater on Valentines day and, while it was fun, we realized we had to make a few changes this year.

Our new schedule that we are hoping to follow annually will be a dinner theater the first weekend in June, and then a regular stage performance the first weekend in November. By having some regularity to our performances, it's easier for people to remember those core details.

If you're interested in acting or helping out with our drama group, please contact us! We'd love to hear from you. Right now we're getting ready for our new season, so it's a perfect time to come check it out.

On Feb. 10th we will begin our 'skill building sessions'. If you want to learn more about acting and how to be successful at it, this is definitely for you. We will be focusing on helping to train our thespians in this art by giving better understanding about some acting basics and beyond.

If you'd like to come audition for the dinner theater, auditions will be held on March 23rd. This is not associated with our skill building, but we do recommend attending the skill building sessions as well. You can never stop learning, right?

If you're interested in either of these segments with ABC Drama or you just want to come help out with behind the scenes stuff, please contact us at abunchofcharactersdrama@gmail.com. We'll then be able to send you a full schedule of the season.

However, if you're interested in just coming and being part of our amazing audiences.... well, circle that first weekend in June for another magical evening out!

One Week Until Performances!!

We are all getting a little excited and a bit nervous... performances are right around the corner! We always say it's a good sign if you're nervous because it means you're going to be practicing extra hard at home! So it always is, too.

Our second to last practice was today... partial costumes on and missing a couple actors who were sick... we'd greatly appreciate prayer that they are all better by next week!

A few pictures to whet your appetite for the upcoming performances. You don't want to miss out!! Nov. 13th @ 7pm and 14th @ 3pm.

Character Post!

****************For details on performances just got to THIS LINK*****************

Last week after practice, Miss Kaitlin and Mrs. Drennan got pictures of the cast for our 'cameo' shots. I thought I would pop in and share them here, just to give a boost of excitement to everyone. :-)

Mr. Bennet- Father to five daughters and husband to one very silly wife. Prefers to spend time in his study.

Mrs. Bennet- Mother of five daughters. Her business is to get them all married as soon as possible.

Jane Bennet- The loveliest of all the Bennet girls and certainly the sweetest. She never thinks ill of anyone.

Elizabeth Bennet- Second daughter and best friends with Jane. She is sweet and amiable, but also has a bit of spirit.
Mary Bennet- Being the middle child, she is left to bring everyone to some common sense. Prefers an evening with Fordyce's sermons to parties or cards.

Catherine (Kitty) Bennet- A very silly girl, but with perhaps more sense than her youngest sister. She follows Lydia where she leads and enjoys giggling over the officers.

Lydia Bennet- The silliest of all the Bennet girls, and the youngest. Her love of officers and dances outweighs any sense of propriety or decorum.

Mr. Bingley- he is single man of large fortune! Need anything else be said?

Miss Caroline Bingley- Very haughty and thinks very well of herself. Prefers the society of Mr. Darcy and only wishes he would see all her virtues.

Mr. Darcy- Very proud and above anyone else, but then, since he is VERY rich, perhaps he should be.

Miss Georgiana Darcy- Younger sister to Mr. Darcy. She is under his sole care and has a timid personality.

SirWilliam Lucas- Very amiable man. Has been given a knighthood and considers himself a gentleman of gentlemen.

Lady Lucas- Neighbor to the Bennets. She enjoys talking with Mrs. Bennet about any eligible young men.

Charlotte Lucas- Best of friends with Elizabeth. She is not a romantic and only wishes for a comfortable home and pleasant husband.

Mrs. Phillips- Sister to Mrs. Bennet, she lives in town and hears all the local news. She adores all her nieces, and takes after her sister in silliness.

Mr. Gardiner- Brother to Mrs. Bennet, he is a lawyer and lives in London. He is a very amiable man and a favorite with Jane and Elizabeth.

Mrs. Gardiner- Aunt to the Bennet girls. She is a sensible woman and pleasant to be around. Jane and Elizabeth are her favorite Nieces.

Lady Catherine DeBourgh- A very rich woman and very haughty. She enjoys telling people what to do. She is also the aunt to Mr. Darcy and Col. Fitzwilliam.

Anne DeBourgh- The very quiet, sickly daughter of Lady Catherine. She is supposed to marry Mr. Darcy.

Mr. Collins- He is the clergyman to Lady Catherine's parish. Being very grateful to her for her condescension, he enjoys singing her praises wherever he can.

Mr. Wickham- He recently joined the regiment in hopes of securing a good life. Having been a downtrodden man with a story, he enjoys procuring everyone's good opinion.

Denny- He is a good friend of Wickhams and a favorite of Kitty and Lydia's. He is a amiable gentleman, but enjoys the flirtations with the ladies.
Col. Fitzwilliam- Nephew to the great Lady Catherine. He is a very agreeable man and, had it not been for fortune, might have liked Elizabeth much better.

Susannah- Servant to the Bingleys and a very sweet girl
Hill- Servant to the Bennets. She knows just about everything that goes on in that house.
Mrs. Reynolds- Housekeeper to Mr. Darcy. She enjoys giving tours of Pemberley and singing praise of her master.
